Hotel Casino Chaves is an interesting hotel located in an excellent area, right next to the Casino and various restaurants. Its central location makes it easy to explore the city. I stayed in a deluxe king room, which offered a fantastic view and access to a great bar.

Wonderful hotel, elegant staff, perfect location in the middle of the city. Outstanding and lovely room with a fantastic view, large balcony and bar for £ 120. The pool area is amazing too. Everything great. Location not far from restaurant, Spain and Portugal and hill top. Such great stay, as always...

New luxurious house in a park outside of Chaves. Nice staff, decent restaurant. A casino belongs to the hotel - if you like it.
The house is located somewhere in the middle of nowhere, the town of Chaves can only be reached by car.

The facilities are acceptable although completely out of context of it's location. To much gambling oriented!
We booked a double room and instead they gave us a twin room it's a shame that hotel staff aren't able to tell the difference between the two, the've excused themselves by saying that booking a twin or a double room through www.booking, for them it's basically the same. We requested if we could change and if we hadn't call reception after a 20' wait they wouldn't have the decency to call us back to inform that our request wouldn't be possible. Shame the service and the price we've payed. The squash court wasn't available either and no one informed us at arrival after we requested a booking.

My family and I arrived at the hotel and were very impressed by the modern, luxurious decor of the lobby. Upon going to our room, we were pleasantly surprised to find an actual wooden crib for my toddler son already set up. I must stress the crib was wooden and not a typical fold out crib you'd find at most other hotels. The crib was set with a small pillow, blankets, and an extra towel and bar of soap for our little one. The bed had complimentary chocolates on the pillows--with one extra for my son. The decor was very modern and bathroom was quite spacious with a nice soaking tub. There was a balcony with a small patio set as well. Internet connection is fairly fast. The pool was cold, but there is an indoor pool. There is also a kids play room on the bottom floor--just ask the front desk for the key. The hotel was nice enough to call a babysitter for us and the wife and I went to the Casino, where we met some of the nicest bartenders, Ricardo and Tatian (spelling?). I won some money playing a uniquely Portuguese table game--the dealers were very nice in teaching me how to play. The Portuguese people, in general, are very friendly... My family and I cannot say enough about this hotel. It's very close to Chaves, Portugal, but still remote enough from the hustle and bustle of the small city. The city offers some sight-seeing and decent shopping. The area is surrounded by beautiful mountains for hiking and many, many vineyards. I highly recommend this hotel for a slow-paced, relaxing vacation--and . Oh, and I'm typically a snob when it comes to hotels, but this one is definitely a jewel.
No business center for printing; however, the front desk accommodated me! Great service. We were sad to leave--but will return next year.

Amidst the lush greenery, I discovered a culinary gem boasting magnificent mountain views. The restaurant's refined atmosphere and traditional Portuguese gastronomy made me feel like royalty dining in a palace. The flavors danced harmoniously on my palate, truly a feast fit for a king.
Shower rooms by the pool: too simple.
